here is the old indian trick they wont tell you. control your distance with your shells. pick a choke for the shotgun at about Imp Mod, 21 to 25 thousands, 5/8 if your British. Just make sure the gun fits you and your looking down the barrel constantly.
1 oz No 8 shot for out to 40 yds, targets that show you some face, go to No 7 1/2 for edge on targets or out to 50 yds, increase speed for more distance, I was breaking targets at 60 yds with 1 oz of 7 1/2 shot travling at 1300. You can increase both distance and effect by using larger shot and or plated shot. remember the most important 6 inches is between your ears
