No lead free requirement in Va. The Barnes are accurate, relatively easy to ram and effective. The Precision Rifle Dead Center Sabots are also very good, bullet is 300 grains of swaged lead, but they can be hard to find. I switched to these 4-5 years ago.

Good going. Here in Montana we are restricted to primitive stuff(percussion cap or flintlock and round ball). I don't understand why the f&g guys would make it more likely to wound something rather than take it cleanly.
In MT you can use lead conical.

Just not the sabot rounds. I use Lee REAL bullets and they are very effective and fly well. I also have killed many with patched RB. In the weapons restricted zones you dont have that limitation. Just has to be a muzzleloader, straight wall pistol cartridge or shotgun.
I have had people tell me that PRB isnt ethical yet the same person likes to shoot his elk at 800 yds with a big scoped whizbang. To each his own.
