you see a double rifle or drilling at a great price marked Ferlach. Many of their guns were marked Ferlach but they were built for well known companies like Rigby, Holland and others. Just like back in the late 50s and thru the 60s Marlin, Mossberg, and High Standard among others built guns for Sears, Montgomery Ward, Penny's and others. They were guns made for many of the big stores of the day. A lot of really good guns are passed up when people see the Sears logo on the guns not knowing they were very well made guns made for the big box stores of the day.
I have seen high dollar double rifles go for really low prices because they had the names Sears, Montgomery wards and others on the barrels. I have bought several drillings (3 barrel guns) in great shape but people pass on them not knowing that they were made by well known brands. Kase spotted a 500 Nitro double rifle at a fellows table at a gun show in Las Vegas. It was priced about one fourth of what it should have been but it had Ferlach's name on it. By the time he got back to my table and we got back to the table where the gun was it had just sold for about one fourth of what it should have. There are a lot of really good deals out there to be found at gun shows if one just looks closely.
