This model 99 was to be refurbished and engraved similar to what Savage did many years ago.

wasn't in the same batch as the S&Ws. So I was wrong there but the gun was still done as shown and that is all that matters. Along about that time we got in several model 99s for refurbishing. Here is one we are finishing for one of our Misfits named Irv. Should be finished in a couple of days. It just needed a new finish.

Quite often when we do a full refurbish I try to use original parts. Some of those parts are the full Buckhorn sights or the semi buckhorn sights.

I have never fired one of those, let alone even pick one up. I don't believe I have ever been close to one. Maybe at a gun show but if I was, I have no recollection of it.

It was some good bones. I traded it in the rough to GNR and I should have bought it back after he finished with it. It went for a song. It was a .30-30 Win. caliber.
