Can you put markings back on a Colt SAA

that has had them polished off? I thought you had some effort in that direction at one time. I saw one "ruined" by a refinish job. Otherwise a desirable 1st gen. SAA.

But the serial on the underside of the main frame and all barrel markings are polished off. It has potential and genuinely looks to all be 120+ yr. old parts. Plus it’s a .32-20 which is the least desirable SAA caliber for collector interest. Needed internal work too, hand, maybe a locking bolt. Like I said an old dog that needed rescue, and money spent. A re-barrel with original Gen 1 part and the cylinder re-chambered to .44 would not be a sacrilege.

I’m a sucker for those. For the price of three good Italian shooters you could have a reworked original!
