different frames,. slides, barrels etc will have a field day with the new Ruger RXM. The serial number is on the chassis so you can change everything to make it more of your liking.

The RXM marks a collaboration between manufacturers Ruger and Magpul to produce an enhanced and modular handgun.

The RXM is a polymer-frame, striker-fired, 9 mm Luger semi-automatic handgun. A “compact” size pistol, the RXM has an overall length of 7.15” with a 4” barrel, a height of 5.31” and weighs 23.2 ozs., unloaded. The flat-faced trigger has an integral trigger safety, as well as an internal striker-block safety. The design is modular, with the fire control components housed in a removable stainless steel chassis that is serialized and is the component that is legally “the firearm.” Designated by Ruger as the Fire Control Insert (FCI), this design feature means that different frame and slide sizes are in store for the RXM, as well as a healthy aftermarket of options.

have something in common with the Glock. Just common sense, if you are going to copy a gun, then copy the one that is #1, the gun that most of the Special Forces and law enforcement carry and depend upon every day.
The Glock is ugly, has no class, character or fine points but it always works and it is the best there is. Everything else is just a copy. And I don't carry a Glock so I don't say this because it is what I carry. I say it because it is true. Other guns may well be prettier and nicer to look at but they can't say they never fail to fire, like the Glock does. The only Glock I have ever seen to jam or fail to fire was one that some wannabe gunsmiths had dicked around with and changed the internals or other parts which should be illegal for a carry gun.
I have 2 good friends that were Special Forces that I used to know at Ft. Campbell and they say thru the years they have been told to carry what sidearm they know they can depend upon and they and most of the other SF boys carry what they feel is the best. They carry the Glock 19.
Not trying to start an argument here, just posting some common sense. If I were to change what I carry, after shooting most of the new 9mms that have come out in the last 3 years, if I had to carry a 9mm, I would carry the Glock 19. Nuff said. And for what it's worth, Kase carries a Sig and if I ever find what I am looking for I will probably carry a Commander 1911 in 45. I should probably carry the Glock 19 but I am too used to a single action 1911 to change. I think they call it muscle memory or something like that.

I have shot several in the last year or so and most have decent accuracy and handling features but none of them jumped out and yelled "buy me!!". I'll know it when I hit that special carry gun. A couple of years ago I tried the Ruger lightweight Commander and liked it but it didn't have the accuracy I want for a carry gun. When we get another of them in I'll try it and see if it does better than the first one I shot.

Basically a Glock 19 / Sig 320 with what I see as an improved grip, much better sights and what the reviewers are saying is a better trigger. From what I see (IMO) it’s an improvement on both the other designs (sorry if that’s blasphemy to anyone). I look forward to handling one. The price point is spot on for them to sell a boatload. Huge plus it taking Glock gen 3 mags and fitting all the same holsters.

Is there a fire control module? It looks like a Gen 5 re-do G19 to me. Sounds good though. I keep a G23 around that I converted to 9mm, and .357 SIG.

I have a SIG 320 and 365X also. The SIG 320's are ridiculed for having a higher bore axis and that rear sight attached to the optic mount plate. I still pull left shooting them.

I’ve not been very excited by all those P series and whatever since the 1980’s. Not that bad, all shot, ok. They have become good at copying other sound designs. I wonder what the old man would think of it all.

I do like how the market is beginning to design toward standardization of some aspects. Mags, mounts, and holsters are a good start.

truckload of them thru the years and as far as I can remember we never had one come back with problems. If you want slick and higher quality you have to pay a lot more than the Rugers sell for.I read somewhere that the Ruger semi autos in 9mm were a big thing in Europe, especially with the military and law enforcement.
