right in the eye. The gun was a Marlin 783 bolt gun. It screamed, jumped and ran off. Surely dead somewhere away where it wouldn't stink. A month later he rolled up at the hunting shack to see the same looking cat again, this time it had something cornered. Upon inspection it was a large Diamondback rattlesnake by the entrance staircase. He shot the snake and left a present of some scraps for the cat. It stayed around and later he was able to inspect it. The yellow cat had a mark just below one eye and out the other side another mark. It was indeed the one he had shot. He befriended that "snake cornering cat" and it lived around there for many years exterminating vermin. Hurricane Bottoms in south east white county AR.
