Starline 500 Linebaugh brass order has been on back order --
since January! Normally BO orders are filled within 3-4 weeks? What the hell?
It's a bit of a waste but I make brass from
.50 AK and .348 Win. too if you find it at a fair value. When my longer brass splits or crumples it gets turned into .510 GNR. I even have some "short" versions of that which had issues but I didn't want to throw it away. Plus it's fun just to see if I can still make it work.

out we had to cut down 50 AK or 348 to get the 500 Linebaugh. When I developed the 510 GNR it took them a while to get 50,000 rounds cranked out so we had to use 50 AK or 348 to make the 510 brass.
I told people then that the 50 AK brass cost us XX per round. When the 510 GNR came available it cost the same. So there isn't a waste of money but a waste of time.
Some things take longer than others. A hundred years ago I had to cut down 308 brass to get my 44 Auto Mag brass, plus then I had to inside neck ream the cut down case so a 44 bullet would fit in without a bulge. Sometimes it took several hours to get a hundred rounds of good brass.
So it's just what handgunners have to do to be able to enjoy our sport.

Yessir. When John brought out the .475 Linebaugh I had him build me one. The only ammo was what you made yourself. I made a lot of it and did not care how long it took me.

And we are a bit short of enough 480 Achilles
to have factory ammo being produced.

Shot shells and multiple .45 buckshot! Full cylinder length. The Nintendo & Jurras book details their pocket colt shotgun quite well. You don’t have a smooth bore but it’s sort of a “back-bore” with that .475 exit.
Denning actually owns the Bowen “Paradox”, I think the one Seyfried tested, maybe I dreamed that. Complete with custom mold etc. I’d about give my kidney for it. What a fun thing to tinker with.
To tell the truth I've never had any interest in that ...
shot loads in the sixgun always seemed like a waste of time and good powder. I have factory shot loads for the .38/.357 Magnum that I bought more than 25 years ago for some reason and never shot any of them. I used shot loads in the .22 rifle but they were just for blistering the neighbors dogs when they came nosing around my goats.
I always found a full power .45 Colt or .44 Magnum or .357 Magnum worked quite well on snakes and other crawly things without resorting to shot. If I need to use shot I like to shoot an ounce and a quarter of it at one time.

brass on back order from Starline for close to 3 years. Haven't been able to figure out how they schedule what calibers to run and when to run them and how much to produce... but I'm sure they've got it figured out. When they filled my back order for 32 SWL I was SURE that 327 was next on the list. Same case head, just a longer cartridge... but I was wrong. If I recall correctly, it was about two years after the 32 SWL that they ran the 327 mangellum.
