For lighter loads in a .454 I guess it is best to
use .454 brass (Freedom Arms 83) than .45 Colt? To make cleaning easier? I wanted to load some 900-1200 fps level cast loads. I tried 2400 once and it was too dirty, hung the gun up. It might have been too chill primers too. Mr. Baker told me to use Rem. #7-1/2, but in a pinch? Any favored clean burning powders? One tiny unburned grain of powder, in the wrong place can lock it up, or make the cylinder drag. Accuracy is unbelievable.
