Reeder Custom Guns - Wyoming has released 90 Kangaroos in the Casper

area. They say it will be a great tourist attraction and also a new game for hunters. I've got news for them. Hunting Kangaroos isn't that easy and if you wound one don't go up to it to check it out. Charlie Herf and I along with a couple of other friends hunted Australia a few years back and got to try our luck with hunting Kangaroos. We had Kangaroo steak too which was actually really good.
The next year we went to New Zealand and hunted Wallabys which are just small kangaroos. Like the Kangaroos the Wallaby steaks were good eating.

Also one of Australia's
prime game animals is wild donkeys. These are about the size of a mule and are stinking critters.
I shot quite a few wild donkeys which weren't good eating. I guess once I got past the smell the donkey might have been good eating.....maybe.

But back to the Kangaroos in Wyoming. Not sure when or if they will start hunting them but I can visualize an HHC in Wyoming.

First 90 Kangaroos released in Wyoming - Buckrail
Apr 1, 2017 · (Dubois, Wyo) – The Wyoming Wild Game Department (WWGD) partnering with the Wyoming Migration Initiative (WMI) have released the first of 5 planned batches of 90 Antilopine Kangaroos into the Wyoming outdoors.

the kangaroo could live in the cold of Wyoming. But it sure got me excited. I have hunted them in Australia and what a great hunt.

the vastness of Australia as well as your hunt camp make me think of what 1920s Africa was like.... Damm, I missed another good hunt. :-(

I was there to hunt "varmints" as I already had a couple of water buffalo. I was told the Varmints were 500 to 700 lbs and bring the proper handgun. I brought a Contender in 475 GNR.

Our guide carried what we thought was a double rifle to protect us from nasty things that come out of the brush at us. The gun turned out being a 12 gauge double barreled shotgun with #8½ shot.

All things considered I would do it all over again. Even with a guide named Doofus it was still a great hunt.

You just need to learn to hunt Kangaroos (it is hard leading them) and avoid the 8 foot snakes. You always leave one end of the tent unzipped so if something crawls in one end you can vacate the premises by the back door. You also learn how fast you can climb a tree in your shorts.

run over by a tourist pulling an airstream, the rednecks will have them all eaten before they freeze to death. How cold does it get in their natural habitat ? perhaps they should release a few in Yellowstone for the Japanese tourist to pet instead of the bison.
