I don't post often, but I need an opinion.
What are y'alls thoughts on Cerakote for a 1911???
Want to do something different, for me.
It is a Rock Island Armory.
I'll carry it on occasion, but mostly a truck or house gun.
I appreciate the opinions of this forum.
Thanks in advance for any replies and your time.

You can get a cheap crappy Cerakote, or a good one. There are some various steps and complexity to do it properly where it will wear well. Also it is adding to the surface, fractions of thousandths, and a texture, which could effect function. Like I said done properly by someone who knows what they are doing, and probably not cheap, it can be good.

Some times you get what you pay for, unless you are very lucky.

I use a company in Mesa called Koted Arms
