even without a rifled bore they hit like a hammer. A double crosses bores at maybe 40 yds., running 1200 fps. You can speed up for closer or slow a bit to make the cross farther. I used a ML SxS double for deer once. Fine at 40 yds. then a foot in front and a foot behind at 100 yds. Very interesting.
