I picked up another CZ shotgun yesterday

IT is an O/U in 20 gauge. The Woodcock is a really nice shotgun. After buying my CZ in 28 gauge a while back I am sorta hooked on the CZ shotguns. The gun is based on the smaller frame from the larger 12 gauge. The wood is nice and the action lightly engraved and color cased.

I learned years ago from my shotgun Guru Larry Farley to always pattern a shotgun, especially the smaller gauges so I got out my patterning sheets and started with the modified and improved modified chokes. The modified was OK but a bit tight and a bit to the left in both barrels.

The improved modified choke was even tighter and even more to the left.

I was a bit disappointed but decided to try the improved cylinder choke tube. Usually the improved cylinder (in my little experience) spreads the pattern out a bit so I decide to try it and was happily impressed. The top barrel and bottom barrel both showed very good patterns. I am not an expert like Larry Farley (he and a friend or two shot 32,000 doves in about 4 days in Argentina). I do good to hit 32 doves in 4 days.
Anyway the improved cylinder choke tubes did wonders for the patterns. These 2 patterns are not perfect but I am not a perfect shotgun shot either.

A lot in the center bulls and strong in the edges. It looks like this new CZ is an improved cylinder shotgun and it's a keeper.
