I’m envisioning something close, but .44 Spec.

GNR is letting it simmer. Minus the “glory hole” lock, a stainless tapered 5”, RB N-frame, with a front sight I can actually see! The 624 is so different in feel from the 629 it’s hard to believe. Perfection is a fleeting mobile target.

The 624 is the next one on the list. Good choice!

I just couldn't resist for discussion purposes. I do hope S&W drops that "Hillary Hole" on new manufacture. But the different barrels are here to stay I think. Technically I figure they are very good, less mechanical stresses. The old one piece barrels are expensive to manufacture no doubt. I'm not sure how the new ones work, actually.

The Hillary Hole is officially gone. S&W makes it like

it is a big deal saying the new Smiths come with a "smooth flat sideplate".

Going with whichever way the wind blows.

the shroud. The front flash hider holds the shroud in and sets the headspace (barrel/cylinder gap). It is a one of a kind as it is based on a S&W N frame 629 with a new 5 shot cylinder and new 41 caliber barrel and chambered in our 410 GNR which is a bit higher pressure than most S&W double actions are good with.. It shoots good as I took a Watusi with it last year at the HHC.

Every time I see one of those, I (OldRugerGuy) wish Ruger would have offered a 4" Redhawk in .45 Long Colt in BLUE.

Alas, not to be I guess. :-(
