I just had a Misfit ask me if I was going to pick

a gun for all around hunting and carry in the woods which of the in stock guns would I chose.
I told him the Magnum Packer would be my choice. The gun is perfect for close up hunting of big and dangerous game and small enough for all day packing. It is chambered in 475 Linebaugh and is a no frills packing Magnum and priced right.
It is heavy enough to keep the recoil down but light enough to carry all day. There is not much you can't do with this handgun and would be my choice on the in stock list.
The Misfit said thanks but he wanted a Contender. Oh well.

That's apples and oranges...

Your choice is hard to beat, plus you CAN shoot .480's too. But the Outlaw .44 and Half-breed .45 are hard to beat for more domestic choices. The Outlaw is almost too pretty but I know it's made to use. The blued HB is robust and would make a great constant companion for any hunt or walk-about.

For the TC, I'd figure you'd choose your "Bang-flop" .41 GNR shorty. Doug still has that first Encore in .378 GNR that you took to Africa. When he gets weak, it's MINE!

The Outlaw is probably one of the nicest

revolvers we have ever built but I am rough on guns. That is why I sorta lean toward the Magnum Packer. There have been times thru the years where I took a shot with a TC (single shot pistol) and the animal didn't drop at the shot. When that happens I have been known to pitch the handgun down into the leaves and pull my revolver and finish the job. Kase has mentioned that his job has been to pick the pistol up out of the mud and leaves. But I have always felt that putting animal down immediately is my job and never let the animal suffer. The gun can be cleaned up.

You are right on the shorty 41 GNR TC as that

has been my "go to" handgun for many years. But it wasn't on the list of choices.
