Ever hear of a .400 Colt?

I read of two Colt Pythons supposedly produced for testing. The possibilities are interesting. If they had made the New Frontier in .400 Colt perhaps they could have made a better run at Ruger and S&W. I also have seen ONE .41 Magnum Colt Python myself, at a gunshow. A 6" blue for $600 with the red and black cardboard box. I should have bought it. I think it was a faked custom, a fellow made a few back then. No factory references I could find were valid. But still, it would have considerable value as a historical shooting curio.

The .400 cal. dates back to the .38-40 WCF and various target and plains Ballard and Sharps long range rifle rounds. The .38-40 itself was a surprisingly popular carbine round up to WWII!
