Special dies to assist with deep seating and crimping, wad cutting tools for over powder and shot, special bullet molds.

No lube in grooves as that is reserved for lead displacement while the .45 slug is hammered through 1-1/2” of .430 rifling! A lot of spin induced real fast after 3” or so of .45 smooth bore. The supplied mold says 295 grs. Target performance was 1200-1250 fps. They did say accuracy was easy to get subsonic.

Multiple projectiles loads are said to work too. A 450 gr. payload would need to be kept on the lighter side. (Like I mentioned you’d need to remove lead from grooves and use a felt under wad) But what a hammer!

lol, TMI. Recovery is not painful, just a long bothersome transition. Each day is better than before.

It’s always fun, the fellowship and trying to get folks “goat”. Showing up with something they haven’t seen in the flesh before.

Mandate no conventional lube. Seyfried claimed the lube would not compress and made so there was no place for the lead to displace. It needs somewhere to go. Like these new all metal bullets they cut grooves into. It’s not for lube but a place for the metal to flow into displaced by rifling. It really lowers pressure with those types of bullets.

Maybe hunted with him. Certainly influenced by him. Some fuss he was overblown, but many accounts say he could back up what he said. I know Keith and O’Connor didn’t gee and haw together. A professor and grizzled old cowboy hunting guide, both strongly opinionated, quite the contrast, no wonder there.

Keith bullets have well thought out traits as to the size of the driving bands and shape of lubrication grooves. I know his designs have been modified for ease of manufacture. I truly love that 173gr. .358” bullet. Nothing wrong with his .44 either. He made one for the .45 Auto rim I need to add to my collection. It’s supposed to be great in .45 auto as well. It’s a SWC style. Folks forget his .333” wildcats are largely responsible for the .338’s today. One of my favorites too.
