It’s an open top cartridge gun made the year before the 1873 SAA came out. A replica of course. It has barrel mounted front and rear sights and hits to point of aim. It’s just for fun but a good .38 anyway. Oddly the cylinder gap and no top strap allows a large 180 degree fan of flame upon firing. A different perspective from modern.
Love the .36 cap and ball guns. I have one but have not shot it yet.
