New Ruger revolvers with sleeved barrels?
Good morning All:
Not to sound too silly but I was wondering if the newer Ruger Redhawk and Super Redhawk revolvers utilizing the sleeved barrels are more accurate than the older models?
I know that the Dan Wesson revolvers could attribute their accuracy to the sleeved barrels but I am wondering if the same could be said about the new Ruger revolvers.

The snubby Supers must have some different way of threading in the barrel. I thought the entire front of the frame was a long threaded area. DW and others have used barrels with threads on both ends, the frame and end of the barrel shroud. They use some type of key to thread the barrel into the "shroud". I think the idea is to have support back by the cylinder but holding torque at the front.
I can attest that the DW .357 and .44 Mag are some of the most accurate revolvers I've ever fired. Only the FA guns come close.
I saw a gunsmith that used Cerosafe and a large Allen key. He melted the alloy and molded it around the key at the internal muzzle. This allowed the barrel to be unscrewed from the shroud using a vice and ample cheater bar. S&W would not sell the needed wrench so he devised it himself.
Super GP100 is only one I can think of.

A fella could do worse than collect up the old school rigs they like. Industry evolves, innovates. Usually motivated by profits, a better mousetrap. Just the way it’s always been.
I think the new guns will be innovative and top performers. No doubt.
