By this I mean plastic stock, carbon fiber, threaded barrel, CNC fancy shooting machines. Not doubt in my mind they stack the bullets. But for me to pay over $1000+ for a .22 with no wood or blued steel, that is a big pill to swallow. I guess I ask more than sheer performance from my firearms. They need some armchair pleasing character too. The warmth of wood, smell of old 3-in-1 oil is a bonus.
But I'm not completely a curmudgeon, I can appreciate new designs. They are mostly performance focused, with ergonomics as a secondary concern. Then add $500-750 for mounts and optics, ouch! These are not your grandads $35 hardware store guns anymore. A $2000 (when fully rigged) .22?! But I do like it.
