Using 9.0 gr. Trail Boss. Great load. One box would chamber and shoot, the other would not. Guess why? I’ve fussed about the complete intolerance of less than 100% perfect ammo in recess chambered FA guns. All my fault. Check ammo always before leaving the house. FA guns above all need a “plunk test”. Ditto necked Reeder cartridges.

loaded a box of 50 Alaskan for my Cape buffalo hunt back in 2019 with Colleen and some other misfits. The load was mildly compressed and I appearantly didn't crimp them enough. The 530gr hardcast lead bullet backed out about a 32nd and would not allow the Marlin lever action to close. I took my 45/70 as backup and did take a nice Buff. Bought a Lee crimper when I got back.

That roll crimp on my .454 allowed chambering, the lesser crimp (small die adj.) would not. I should have checked before leaving the house!
