Does what we are exposed to as children affect our life choices as we grow up?
My Dad had pictures of me taken when I was 4 years old, holding his original 1858 Remington .44 cap 'n ball sixgun.
75 years later I still prefer a single action sixgun.
I took some photos of my youngest daughter with her holding a small Charter Arms .38 Special when she was 2. To this day she prefers to carry a revolver over an autoloader.
My oldest daughter grew up shooting all kinds of guns and killed her first Javelina with a rifle I built for her when she was 11. She likes rifles, sixguns and autoloaders.
