I have had a long term fascination for broom handle Mausers but in past years could never afford to get near to one. I loved the Chinese 45 cal ones and the number 9 nine mililmeter Luger models. Some guy in Hollywood armed the robot force with a rip off broom handle almost weapon, but until now it was a lost cause for me. And then I am seeing all these ads for 5.56 pistols and then 9 mm Mac 5 pistols and my I want thought process is going active. All it would take is for SDS arms to put a broom handle on the MAC 5 and a convertible holster/stock and I would probably start pulling out my check book! They are getting that close!

Most had the bores shot out but they functioned. I didn’t know the difference in .30 Mauser and 7.62x25 Tokarev. Dimensionally identical so I was in business. I did notice I was impressed with the power, and noted quite sharp recoil. I had a sound example of the C96 and smaller Bolo, both made in Germany by Mauser and shipped to China at the turn of the last century.

Later I found that I basically shot .357’s out of a .38, and lived to tell! The Tok ammo puts the bullet out some 400 fps faster than the .30 Mauser! The gun is a fascinating design of the short recoil principle. The only “screw” in the whole works is the one that holds the grips in place. Several shops back then specialized in re-boring the shot out barrels to 9mm Luger or relining the worn bore with a new rifled insert. If you can find an example so done it would be a fine shooter.

let me know if you see any worth having , Chinese reissue copies or better yet 9mm originals I can bid on. I would have loved to get a 98% copy like that Chinese one you'll showed me. in .45. Or I can keep on waiting and hope someone here makes a reasonable facsimile brand new!
