THEN I started shooting .357. It took me a long while to get over flinching. But the fact that .44 components cost twice what .357 did, it got me into reloading and casting as well. I knew no one outside of the gun magazines of the day that shot .45 Colt. A few weirdos shot .41 Magnum just to be different.lol

The "Keith" situation still has some merit. A .44 (.43 actually) will always have more meat than a .45 bored gun, given the same chassis. Either is not likely to blow a top-strap, neither in Keith's day either, without some pilot error. He was the responsible party.

I consider it a blessing to have well stocks in both. In my advancing years I do enjoy the .45 cal. guns. They seem to be more lively in the hand, a bit better balance. Subtle but detectable. Always the loader, it was never a real factor, for me anyway.

Of late the crazy mix of that Paradox is a delight. A .45 with a .44 barrel! lol I'm not sure what to call it.
