Hello All:

AS we know the tax bill endorsed by President Trump has passed the House of Representative. In it is the proviso to deregulate suppressors.

I am wondering if this will pass the Senate?

Just curious as to what people think? Thank you.

I have one suppressor for 22-22 WRM ( Sig Sauer SDX-22) and I am holding off for now on getting another one.

Patiently optimistic

I’m watching to see how this plays out. I have set up my “profile” with silencer shop - the paperwork to get me in the system. Have not actually decided on a suppressor yet. I have always hesitated b/c I didn’t really want the BATF to have any reason to be involved in my life. If this passes, I will go ahead and buy and hopefully save, but I wonder what the suppressor makers will do…hike prices or will the market collapse? Time will tell.

The market certainly won’t collapse but you will see a bunch of new players jump into the market and prices will drop. Remember the “fuel filter” guys selling those for $50? You’ll get anything from those to the higher end stuff like Silencerco.

I meant prices collapse

The technology certainly isn't space-grade, but there is a wide gap in what I've seen with all manner of exotic materials and claims, etc. A fool and his hard-earned money can soon be parted....hoping that if this does pass, prices will come down across the board. A man has got to make a living and a fool maybe born every day, but sheesh.

I think it will grow.

As it stands now, 41 states allow suppressor ownership and 40 allow hunting with them.

Sooo glad I moved out of Massachusetts a while back. Anyways,.

I do believe it will grow.

As far as the BATF paper trail, we are all under the radar. Last year I was hunting small game and poking around Sand Draw north of Riverton Wyoming ( Near Boysen Reservoir) when I met a Ranger. We chatted and he said that I must have been hunting because he ran my plates and saw I had an active hunting license.

So we really don't have any privacy if you really think about it. I bit the bait and got my account for getting a suppressor. I love shooting it and soon I plan to get a Ramblin Man 46 for use on my Glock M40 10mm and 10" 44 magnum TC barrel.

As far as the Big Beautiful Bill, it is in the hands of the Senate. I suspect that we will not see anything for a couple of months as they are hashing it out,.
