Found an interesting chart today

I’ve seen a couple Whitetails hit high, above the heart/lungs, but below the spine. Get up and run out of the county. One I know, hit through and through, with a 130 gr. .270 Win. round, was doing pretty well recovering a month later! Goes to prove bullet placement.

At HHC a fellow hunter shot a big Elk with a thunderous .300/378 Weatherby, three times! The gun, now empty, was not much good, he’d forgotten more ammo. With such a cannon a man only needs one shot, right! lol. He borrowed a .308 and one more round to finish.

Same guy had a Taurus .45/.410 with this expensive shotgun self-defense ammo. He emptied the gun with around $20 worth of the ammo into a poor little 70 lb. Billy goat. Again he had to borrow a finisher. Glad it wasn’t three hoods with bats and long knives!

One of the best was this fun little Russian guy Dave Manson brought. Had the snazziest sporterized 7.62x54R. “Mother Russia’s gun” he called it. Felt well armed for anything on the planet. I’ll never forget his big eyes and countenance after ricocheting a 150 gr. Spire point off the skull of a TN mountain hog, point blank too! Didn’t even phase it, other than energizing its attitude. lol. He finally killed it. But we heard no more about Mother Russia’s gun.

Lots of other amazing stories of things going sideways when you’d never think! .475 Linebaugh’s, even .45-70’s, Cap&Ball revolvers….well never mind. I’m sure everyone has stories of their own. They make memorable events. You forget the times things go perfect.
