I feel a silly expense coming. Not one I need really, but it would offer a sense of fulfillment on some level, Lol. Gifts of quality holsters, scopes, etc. do it too!

That was my first firearm purchase.

Didn't have it for long.

There were two makers and three types of .22

Later, as Bryco, they made .380 and even 9mm cal. handguns. But at first there was Jennings Firearms and they made two calibers, the J-22 and J-25 (.25 ACP). The .22's were by far most popular. They had a black coat finish, satin nickel, and shiny chrome. The first variations had a teeny metal horizontal sliding safety. Then later a plastic vertical toggle.

I was told by someone (?) that the founders got a divorce and Bryco came out of that. I sure can't confirm.

The black finished guns didn't always cycle well. But the Nickel and Chrome seemed to. I shot Yellow-Jacket and CCI Stingers from mine with excellent results. The barrels were pined to the frame, simple blow back, so they were even very accurate if you could hold them. Dry firing could break the cast metal firing pins, a steel one would be easy to make. Sights were pretty visible for the type.

This silver box would have been an early model, nickel with black grips, shipped with extra six-shot mag. Denning gave me a box of stuff. It has another Jennings mag in it! I knew what it was instantly. lol I see a challenge of finding one to fit the box coming.
