Are you talking about the “LBT” style vs SWC?

Both designs go about the same objectives in a little different way. The Keith/Thompson SWC has a front “driving band” that’s intent was to help keep it aligned transitioning into the rifling on revolvers. The LBT type uses the “ojive” slope to a wide nose in sort of the same way, it has a “bore riding nose”. Given both with a like size meplat, it’s what you like and which is more accurate in your specific gun.
Personally I think any type of flat tip at all helps a bullet penetrate more straight with less deflection. RN bullets seem to tumble and yaw. Depending on the quarry and bullet it may even turn into a RN upon hitting the target.
Either one ... use what the gun prefers

Over the years I have used both and come to the conclusion that both WILL work, but most of the time the particular gun will favor on design over the other for whatever reason.
No real preference really. Both are advertised as being

good for hunting larger animals like hogs, bears, moose and elk. I was just wondering what folks thought as I’m running low on .475 cal bullets and need to replenish. Missouri Bullets has a 340gr rnfp that looks interesting. I load to 480 ballistics in my Reeder 475L.
Matts bullets is another good place to get them.

I have run some of the other Missouri bullets and have had good luck with them. Im sure that 340gr will go through anything that its pointed at.
