Due to CA legislation basically banning current Glock firearms de-facto. Due to the fact they can "easily" be converted to full auto. Itself an arguable notion. No matter, the factory Glock, is not taking chances. The financial risk of like legislation spreading to other states, or countries for that matter, their reputation cannot be trifled with. It could be a financial disaster in the millions. With the CAD programs they already figured a response, the Gen V. They are discontinuing all production except for the new Gen V versions that do not have a back plate that can be changed, converting them to full auto.
My question is, even though there are literally millions of Glocks out there, are prices or demand going to increase for Pre-V models? We have seen it in industry many times; post War SA, Pre-64 Win. etc. It's not the fact they are better or anything (although sometimes that is a fact) but it's the spirit if circumstances. Saying you can't have the old anymore. Humans being what they are, and predictable to a point. It will be interesting for sure.
