So what's that going to do to Glock prices?

Due to CA legislation basically banning current Glock firearms de-facto. Due to the fact they can "easily" be converted to full auto. Itself an arguable notion. No matter, the factory Glock, is not taking chances. The financial risk of like legislation spreading to other states, or countries for that matter, their reputation cannot be trifled with. It could be a financial disaster in the millions. With the CAD programs they already figured a response, the Gen V. They are discontinuing all production except for the new Gen V versions that do not have a back plate that can be changed, converting them to full auto.

My question is, even though there are literally millions of Glocks out there, are prices or demand going to increase for Pre-V models? We have seen it in industry many times; post War SA, Pre-64 Win. etc. It's not the fact they are better or anything (although sometimes that is a fact) but it's the spirit if circumstances. Saying you can't have the old anymore. Humans being what they are, and predictable to a point. It will be interesting for sure.

All depends on the internet hype Im guessing. Same can be said for Pre-lock /lock S&W's. Now we have the post-lock guns. If the lock, guns are going to be so undesirable and the prices are going to plummet, Im buying every one I can :-D

It is still just *PLASTIC*

At the end of the day, my opinion only, if Glock prices rise it’s due to a “scare,” and if someone pays that premium they are an idiot. Plenty of other choices in the marketplace. I have to laugh every time I see someone who buys a Glock and THEN spends another couple of hundred dollars to drop in this trigger, or that magazine release or whatever. A Glock is as simple a tool as a shovel. No one accessorizes their shovel. Just shoot it. All that add on stuff doesn’t make one a better shooter anymore than add on options to your vehicle make you a better driver.

Correctly stated, and if Glock bows to the stupidity of Kali

then a pox on them and their house. It’s a tool, not a sentient being.

I thought I was becoming the old curmudgeon. The Glock is/was a military and service handgun, initially. With the wild success it has transformed into one of the most popular and effective self-defense handguns of this century (since the 1980’s). I don’t truly “enjoy” mine like I do the other fine crafted handguns. But I confess I guess I own about half a dozen of them. Large chassis G21/20, (2) G23/19, G30s, and a dedicated G19. I almost bought a G43 but stopped short in favor of a SIG 365. On just those two platforms I shoot .460 Rowland, .45 ACP, 10mm. .40 S&W, 9x25 Dillon, .357 SIG, and 9mm, seven calibers. I had to make my own fun. Besides self-defense and club level competition it has made a fantastic back-up hunting arm.

The 1911 is a military service handgun and nothing else? A waste to mod or tune? Ditto the 98 Mauser, 1903 Springfield, Model 10 S&W, or Ruger .22 Auto? Innovation and outside the box thinking is what drives our loved sport. Like motorcycling, you’d never catch me riding a chopper, Harley bagger, or GROM. But I just smile at those who do. Freedom is such a valuable commodity. Love is too; we just need more of both I figure.

Sure, I have a few Glocks. But I prefer wood and steel. I'm not getting rid of my Glocks, don't misunderstand me, just don't see how adding money to the plastic....changes it?

Needs to do the same thing that Barrett Firearms did to California.
When California banned ownership of .50BMG rifles, Barrett stopped performing any warranty or repair work on any of their products owned by California government agencies.

Glock should follow suit and stop servicing any of their guns owned by a California agency.

should read:
owned by all government agencies in California.
Barrett's denial of service and warranty work doesnt just apply to the state. It applies to all city, county, and municipal agencies in the state.
