309 JDJ vs 7-30 Waters-7mm GNR?

Hello All:

I have too much time on my hands. Then again that reminds me that I need to do more work on my off-grid cabin.

I saw someone who has been successful with the 309 online for a variety of game like antelope and deer.

I am thinking that the 7x30 Waters or the 7 MM GNR would work just as well and maybe better in the sense that the 309 uses a necked down 444 Marlin case vs a 3030 case.

Anyone have any real world hunting experience with either one to make a good comparison?

Just thinking out loud and possible future purchase. Thank you all from the woods of North Central Maine.
