Hello All:
A while back I bought a Glock M40 in 10mm for backcountry use. One of the features of this gun is that the frame is slotted to mount a laser/light or combo of the two.
I have heard pro and con about a light mounted directly on a firearm.
What is your take? Thank you
I use them a lot. However for “Hunting” except

In a few places, they are illegal. Spotlighting is frowned upon in AR.
I have a TLR-1 Streamlight that puts out 500 lumens, lasts a long time, and it’s 15 yr. old at least. I put it on Glocks, SIG, some shotguns and such for investigating the yard at night.
Of late I bought an Olight for around $80 on eBay. Its max setting is 1000-1200 lumens?! It has different settings and strobe as well. I am really enjoying it on a couple platforms. It’s on the 30-shot Kel-tech .22 WMR how. Still weighs about nothing and what firepower. The rig and an extra mag in the pocket, one could really throw down!

It was temporary. I learned years ago how to shoot at night with a flashlight in the left hand. Haven't had a reason to change.
We have a forend on an 870, store bought

that is exactly what you "made". Streamlight? You squeeze the bar on the forend to turn the light on. It was pretty expensive, but accomplishes exactly what you did, with less flexability. lol
I was getting meds at the drug store yesterday. They have a big NEBO products display. I really like their stuff. One item interesting is a 16-18" aluminum "Bat" with a 1500 lumen flashlight in the end. It's powered by (6) AA batteries. Would be a good item to have in the car. I think my daughter would love one. About $60.
Legal in Louisiana for pigs

I have mocked one up temporarily like JT on shotgun and marlin 357. Used Poe pigs and predators in the yard at home. I know guys with them on AR rifles for just pig shooting too. I liked it for my purposes. Pigs may or may not run from them. It is great for knocking possums and coons out of the fig tree!
