Some Thanksgiving facts…

While not a biblical ordinance we are commanded to give thanks and acknowledge God’s daily provision. They come one at a time. The Plymouth settlers held a 3-day feast in 1621 celebrating their first year success. This was largely accredited to the assistance provided by the local Indians and good relations. The first credited Thanksgiving festival along with the resident Indian population. It was tough being an Indian as warring other tribes were always a threat, European alliances were both practical and tactical.

In 1863 President Lincoln made the National holiday.

1941 it was changed to the fourth Thurs. in November.
