While they no doubt trained some I noted in the videos that they were not "combat seasoned" as to their clumsy handling and tactics. It seems more of a lightly groomed sleeper cell activation. I understand that the two men, father and son, had gone through legal channels in Australia. They were licensed to own the "hunting rifles" as members of a hunting or sporting club. This was a requirement for gun access.
