as I was only 3 yrs. old. But I can remember beginning around 1968 or so. There were many stories I heard from WWII and Korean veterans, Vietnam of course. The culture vibe was so different then, but I got to experience it, the 1960's. I came of age in the 70's myself. My how things have changed. I try to be empathetic to my kids, realizing this time now is their memories.
It's paramount we instill the proper moral values and importance of self reliance and Freedom. What that truly IS, and the price it requires. I personally believe all that is under attack. Our 2nd Amendment rights are such an important part of that too. Look at all the countries that gave up their ability to demand their Freedom. God bless to all and Merry Christmas, glory to our Messiah.
I actually made contact with John Chovan!

In 2009 just before we moved to Mozambique, I received an email from a man who said he had read the article on Leverguns and that John Chovan was his neighbor!
He sent me John's phone number and I called him. I told him who I was and he knew about the article. One of his daughters had found it and showed it to him. She called me later and I had a nice visit with her also.
John was quite elderly but clear of mind when I spoke with him. We talked for half an hour or so.
His daughter called me after he passed away a few months later. I am so glad that we made contact after all those years!
