A lot of the names were interesting....

Grand Funk got their name from the "Grand Trunk Railroad", changing the wording. Buffalo Springfield was the brand name of a pavement roller one band member noticed. REO Speedwagon was coined from a defunct brand of old service trucks.

If our old groups sold their souls for fame they were much more discrete than those today. One can notice a pattern of showing up with one blacked eye, a family member dying mysteriously, followed by a sharp uptick in popularity or skill. Published photos with strange hand signals etc. I'm not sure whats going on, but there are some odd forces at work. Once you start to notice the patterns it's hard not to notice. I miss the seemingly good old days.
