Just a few I had close...To give you some info

I own two in particular that you used to use personally that are very dear to us. The BRNO 602 you built for Kase long ago that is now a .416 Rigby (my African rifle) and the old Encore in .378 GNR with the flared muzzle brake you took to Africa several times. We can find it in several of your published photos with game. Some wonderful memories for sure. I hope to put them to more use. I SHOULD have shot a Fallow at HHC, they were magnificent.

Just a few I had shots at GNR...all of these are top 2 or 3 record book...
In pic 1...A big Waterbuck

In pic 2...a big male ostrich....The females are brown and off limits.

pic 3 I am proud of this one. A 56" Kudu. I took a shot right at 200 yards. The Kudu never moved. I thought I had missed so I reloaded and took another shot...again at 195 to 200 yards...and again the Kudu never moved. I reloaded but the ph said something was up. Don't shoot again. We walked up to the big Kudu and the reason he never moved is after the first shot he was dead and he moved just enough to wedge himself in the V of a small tree. I took the second shot and that was when the PH said hold off, let's walk up. If you look close you will see 2 holes within 2 inches of each other. Look in the white strips just back of the shoulder. That was one of the longer shots I ever made with the 378 GNR that you now own.

Pic 4...a huge Eland. We tracked him all day, probably 3 to 4 miles. Finally he stopped to see who or what was on his tail. He was on top of a big hill and when he stopped he outlined himself gave me a shot. We figured he was 150 to 160 yards and knew we were there. John told me I wouldn't have a second chance. All I had was a sharp uphill shot. I leaned on a little 1" thick bush but it was all I had. At the shot he dropped like a rock. He was #1 for a good while. I heard he was down to #2 in the record book.

There were probably another 25 or 30 African game taken with your 378 GNR. The gun never failed me in probably 10 African safaris, maybe a few more. And I don't think I ever had to take more than 2 shots on any of them.

I remember you telling of the Y-O Ostrich murders. lol I've eaten Emu, figure Ostrich is good too. My favorite boots are full quill Ostrich. They feel like wearing house slippers.
