A while back I sent a 10-inch TC Contender barrel chambered in 44 magnum and to have it threaded by Gary's crew. The purpose was to use a Silencerco 46 Hybrid M.

One of the great things about Maine is that you can hunt with a suppressor. I kind of jumped in. My first suppressor is a Sig Sauer CDX 22. It is a very lightweight and just a ton of fun to shoot my 22 autoloaders.

Deer season has been a learning experience for me this year. I had a doe permit for this zone not too far from work and saw deer. I just did not have a good opportunity for a shot. But I am learning this new area and next year I should be able to connect.

Here is an image of my TC set up with the suppressor.

Cool. Is that a RDS?

One thing I cannot escape is age, and for shots beyond, say 25 yards, I am considering a RDS on my longer-range handguns (ie, T/C Encore). Curious as to others experience with such sights. I trust you guys.

Yes. A 30 mm Ultadot.

I have it zeroed at 50 yards. Where I live and hunt in north-central Maine most shots will be under 75 yards. So a red dot works out very well.

I like the brightness adjustments on this one as I can dial it down very low at the end of legal shooting light. I can also crank it up when the sun is out and the woods are blanketed in snow.

I could see that as very useful

and able to withstand hard-recoiling rounds. I need to look for one to check out. Thanks.

Very nice. Looks like around here in the foothills

of the Boston Mountains (Ozarks). I've seen some pretty good deals on old .357 TC barrels. You can get one and re-chamber to .357 Maximum, maybe .350 or .360? If you wanted. I also have an ancient 280 gr. RN .358 mould. For what it was intended I have no idea?! .358 Norma, maybe Whelen? What a beast. If the twist will spin it a fun suppressed bullet I figure. But by the time you buy an old barrel, re-chamber, and thread the muzzle you'd have a ton of money in it. Good thing logic and economy don't always factor into gun projects.
