By themselves. They always felt poor, ergonomically to me. Being a Colt enthusiast I just ignored it. Some S&W guys do that, abscond with the very expensive grips. Leaving very good serviceable aftermarket ones in their place. But oh my! Getting stock grips to restore to original is expensive.
