Probably too hard to cast by itself. Looks better than linotype to sweeten a pot.

Railroads used it as bearing metal in old non-roller bearing car axels. If you had a friend working for the RR you could get lots of it. I still use it for adding tin to plumber lead for casting bullets. My stash is slowly running out.
