It’s a bit disconcerting but seemingly adequate for DA as well. I’ve never had the star ejector jump it. But I have had the extractor on modern 1873 (I assume the earlier versions can do it too) lose the grip and allow the extractor to pop over the rim. Usually it’s on partial extraction. I never stuck one flush in the chamber.maybe it was my rifle too. My .44-40 had no such troubles. I have a 1892 clone that seems to work well on extraction.

BTW I still have your $200 box! I’ll save it for you. I’ve never had a USFA but they are really pricy these days. Anything under $2k seems a real bargain.
