Hello All. An old image
I posted this image years ago and felt the need to repost this.
The image is of my grandfather( the man on the farthest left) and his friends after a successful Massachusetts deer hunt. For over one hundred years, the state has been a shotgun only state. I am guessing the image is sometime around the 1930's or 40's. Everyone dressed up a little to go out. In those days, the season was a week to two weeks long, the first full Monday in December with no Sunday hunting.
My grandfather has a double barreled shotgun with some kind of home made front sight.
From time to time I get a tinge of nostalgia. I do believe I need to reach out to some friends and see if this season we do a deer hunt together. ![[image]](images/uploaded/202606261517116a3e97f724ca2.jpg)
