Reeder Custom Guns - Pistol scopes

I aquired a super blackhawk bisley hunter in 44 mag. Looking for opinions on what to put on it. Thx

Ive always had great luck with Burris pistol scopes.
They make a 2x that should fit inside of your sight radius.

Fewer and farther between now a days. The 2x Burris has good eye relief and is a tank. I blew up 3 scopes working up loads for my 476GNR Encore pistol. Pushing a 500gr .470 slug to a tad over 1900fps in a 5 lbs hand gun is hard on scopes to say the least. I put close to 80 rounds through it with the Burris on it and it worked great. I have it on my Wyoming Hunter now shooting 210 gr 41GNR#2 at 1800fps. No problems!

At one time Burris has made 1x, 1.5x, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and a 10x. A 1.5-4x, 2-7x, 2.5-7x, 3-9x, and 3-12.
They used to offer multiple reticles choices in all of them, and even offered custom reticles.
One of my friends has a 10x with extra fine crosshairs and a .5 MOA dot

And it’s great to about 75-80 yds for me. More clarity than my eyes alone for sure, light gathering too. But I chose a Leupold 4x fixed. It’s a bit much, slower to find things in the field of view until past 25 yds. I like it because it greatly extends the range for me, to 150 yds. or so. As far as I need to be shooting at deer size game with the revolver.

I haven't been too happy with them but still grab one of their handgun scopes whenever I see one. Handgun hunters are who put Burris on the map years ago. Burris had a 1X, 2X, 3X5x and 7x and on up to 10X along with several variables. They even had a 0X that I thought useless but was sought after by the competition shooters.
Here in the last few years Burris has slowly dropped all their handgun scopes to work on their lineup up of large, high power rifle scopes and in doing so have dropped their handgun scopes.
They have also dropped the maintenance of their handgun scopes, which ticked me off.
Having said all this, I still grab up any used Burris handgun scopes when I see one.

I have lost faith in the company that used to be among the best of the American manufactures. I bought a used rifle several years ago, that turned out to be a custom build from a Davis Gun Shop, in North Carolina somewhere, had a vintage Burris 4-12 that had one of the turrets messed up. I sent it back to Burris for a rebuild. I like WB like vintage period equipment on vintage guns. Long story short, back comes a 4-16 Burris Scope made in the Phillipine's. They would not even send back the original scope I sent in. I dont know what Leopold has done . But I do agree with Gary any of the older fixed powers are worth buying. I have also had good luck with B&L pistol scopes

There isn't a whole lot out there. I love that the Burris scopes I use have those nice fine cross hairs.

I seem to recall that 1x scope having a wide range of eye relief so you could use it on a rifle or handgun.
