Reeder Custom Guns - info on the HHC

I haven't mentioned the HHC lately and I sure hope you are planning on being there. This will be one of the important HHCs. A good crowd at this one will help us to ensure we have another next year.
I haven't talked to Sandy lately about how many hunters are signed up. The HHC is a great hunt in that it is open for all ages and a lot of hunters take advantage of this to bring the family. I will get with Alan in the next week or so to see if any special critters will be there.
I hope to be there, but that is sort of iffy right now. My cancer doc is saying don't push it as of today. I have been having a rough time over the last few weeks besides having no vision in my right eye. Colleen has been running the gun shop and is doing quite well at it. Thank the Lord she is knowledgeable about guns and ammo. She is up on most aspects of guns and hunting, having hunted thru several states and a couple of times hunting in Africa.
A lot of you will remember Robert, my main man. He will be there to answer any questions about custom guns and reloading.
If you plan on making the hunt but haven't registered yet, do so when you can, Call Sandy and sign up. The 3 lodges will hold a lot of hunters but sign up when you can so you can bring the family and have a great time. You can reach Sandy at 931-979-4050.

So far we are running around 25 signed up. That is the lowest amount we have had in several years. Sandy said several people had asked about groups or families, and this is always a perfect hunt for families. I hope you Misfits will sign up and join us at this hunt.
We are planning on having some special guns just finished on display. Robert has been working on some special lever guns and should have them on display.
I just talked to Lynn, who is the head honcho there at the lodge.
He said they will have some very special critters for us at the hunt.Here is the list as of today...
RED STAG
Bull and cow elk
AXis deer
Sika deer
Fallow Deer
Blackbuck
Water Buffalo
bull Bison
cow buffalo
all the breeds of Rams
plenty of hogs
and here is something special..first the rare white buffalo. .'
these are really special, very seldom seen. We had several of them there last year and they went really quik. These are a great trophy plus good eating too, Next,
something super rare, the Kangaroo. Now where are you going to see the Kangaroo, except in Australia? They are hard to hunt. They will run up to you and kick you right in the nuts. These make a really great critter to hunt and eat too.. Plus you can have them mounted or have the hide made into boots.
Lynn said he didn't have the whole list there with him but he will call me with any additions to the list.
So there you go. Where else can you find and hunt white buffalo in this country and Kangaroos without going to Australia. Maybe he will have some Wallaby which is a small version of the Kangaroo. We hunted them at night in New Zealand with spotlights. The Wallaby is hard to hunt but we ended up eating wallaby steaks from them.
There you go. What a great list of animals. You won't find a list as good as this one anywhere.

I sure hope a lot of you guys will be able to make it. And bring the wife or girl friend too. There are quite a few new people on the list of hunters that are scheduled. I always look forward to the new people making the hunt and usually there are a couple of tables full of custom guns to handle and shoot if you like, and use one of the guns to take a big hog or whatever they like .
Before he died, John Taffin had constantly nagged me to write my 3rd book on handgun hunting.I use the HHCs to gather up a lot of new pictures, and with some unusual critters like the white buffalo or a Kangaroo at this new HHC, this is a chance to get some really good pictures.
The HHC is also my yearly chance to stock up the freezer. I normally try to take a buffalo or cow elk or cow water buffalo. At Alan's prices I can take one of the above without breaking the bank.

If you have never joined us at one of the HHC, this is your chance. The HHC stands for Handgun Hunters Challenge but you don't have to use a handgun. You can use whatever you like. And by the way I use the term Misfits and it is a term given to us several years ago by one of the other gun groups. They said we were just a bunch of Misfits with no rules or regulations. So we kept the name and wear it proudly.
By the way I had a new Misfit call and ask if he could use one of my personal handguns to take a big hog. Several of my personal handguns are normally there on one of the display tables and you are welcome to take a big hog or one of the Kangeroos with it. He asked if he could use my 510 GNR that I took an African lion with a few years back.
