It would be a nice man-cave or office piece. Admire the delicate artwork. I really enjoy the old New Service. Ive had a few. My first was a .38-40 and I've had two .45 Colts. I always wanted a .44 Special Version. One I owned was actually an old 1909 Military piece. The grips on ALL Colts are funky. I absolutely have to have a grip adapter to be able to reach the trigger effectively.
I sold one to John Taffin. He had it when he passed. It came up for sale but in reflection let it pass on the the next excited owner. We might see it again one day. The .44-40 version is also a bit rare and worthy of collecting. I'm not above playing with a nattty Fitz make up gun either.
I had a New Service that was a RCMP gun.

It had been .455 Webley and was converted to .45 Colt. It had a Numrich 7 1/2" barrel that had an "egg" in the middle of it from where a bullet had stopped midway in the bore and was fired out of it.
I cut the barrel off behind the bulge and made a 3 1/4 snubby out of it. The huge grip gave me problems and eventually I cut it apart and reassembled it to S&W K-frame grip dimensions. Made it a lot easier to handle.
While it was a snubby sixgun, it was still quite a bit larger than a 4" Model 10 S&W.
I put a set of ivory stocks on it and gave it to Paco Kelly.
