the Series 80 to death, and them likely totally unaware of proper 1911/1911A1 safety check inspections, and why they are done (as in things have, do and will go wrong with the guns). I skipped the checks on a new one, and never will again, after it discharged in my house while chambering a round, a combination of defective full cock notch and weak sear spring had the hammer fall as slide closed and sear too slow to catch the half-cock. I was lucky it did not empty the gun in the house. That never would have happened with a firing pin block safety, which might now be almost dead at Colt.
