Waiting on a reamer set I figured I’d slick it up

I’ve not had a later model Ruger apart in a while. They certainly are relying on mildly finished castings. I’m taken aback some, compared to what I’ve done in the past. Slicking it up will be a very easy and visual chore. I’m leaving the factory springs alone. I prefer reliability over the most light action. The polishing of surfaces will mostly accomplish what I desire.

My Pietta .45 Colt was finished inside a lot nicer.

I’d not say the castings were rough, actually

The bearing and friction surfaces are pretty smooth, that casting mark on the transfer bar, you struggle to hang a fingernail on it. It does not look like the old fare of a Redhawk or old Security-six. But everything is cost cutting these days.
