One of our distributors called today to see if I

saw the ale prices in their new flyer. I told him I did but what about the sale prices on the suppressors. These prices in their flyer came out a week ago before the Oct 9th Great Day. So his reply to that was Er...um...well...uh...let's see..er..uhh...can you call back tomorrow? .And that was all I got from him. There are a lot of suppressor sales that aren't really suppressor sales in the next few days. Some companies are going to have to eat those $1000 and $1200 supressors in the next week or so.

I got really confused by one video I saw...

they implied that "class I" dealers could not transfer suppressors. That didn't make any sense. If it's a 4473 any normal dealer should be able to buy and sell.

They also implied they were working on a system for "some" states where if you had the state cleared CCL that it could be a direct transfer, straight to your mailbox?! In Arkansas I am not required to have a NICS check run, they just write down my CCL number.

The site said to give them a few days to work out details.

The way I understand it

All suppressor sales and transfers have to go through a Class 3 dealer, but with a simple background check and form 4473.

I have a suppressor coming in this week and my dealer said no fingerprints, no photos, just the 4473 and the background check and I take it home.

I don't think the class 3 will enter here as not

all dealers have class 3 licenses. The other part of just the 4473 and the background check will be the best and quickest way to go thru this. The ATF might not want to make it that easy. I am sure the ATF would like to have some sort of control but it won't be known for a few days.

They said there were a couple of "wrinkles" that needed

ironing out. This new ATF guy seems to want to make the laws straight across the board and not have one law for this state and one for another state and so on. They want to cover all suppressors and the short barrel laws in one bill.
I assume they will try to solve that problem by having all of them serial numbered. That is one way but I don't feel that is how they will go about it.
The main thing posing a problem is the serial number. That could be a problem as there are a lot of suppressors out there that have no serial number. The SBRs nd SBS shotguns will already have a serial number so it shouldn't be that much of a problem for them.
I guess we will know more later this wek.
