They're probably correct in their thinking.

However, neither one said that they actually talked to some one at Ruger. I would think that Huntington would be able to call some one and find out.

They have a solid plan in motion. Consumer complaints are minimally influential. They were all calculated in prior meetings. Folks fuss and may even reach into pockets to snap up what's left for the end of the year. It's simple profitability. Problem is today manufacturers think they control the markets with supply, manipulate buying patterns. They don't care what the consumer thinks he wants, they will force the market with supply. Charts, spreadsheets, algorithms, rule the boardroom. The old man is long gone to rule the roost with a vision. The trend lines tell everyone what to do.
It will be exciting to watch the trends on used guns

I figure it will make used revolvers boost in prices. Six-shooters in particular, even the Italian clones will probably go up. The wood stock bolt guns are in a lull, will they go up? Rugers will of course. You can still buy a good 700, 70, 721, for reasonable prices. I do bet they would cost a bunch to produce. This plastic and matte black stuff, with $15 hr. labor slapping it together, is still profitable. Someone with more than they need already, how to you entice them to buy a new gun?
A few odd Redhawks still listed at $700-800, hurry most over $1000 used already. Ditto Ruger single actions, Stainless, Vaqueros, Bisleys, Flat tops, are all going to skyrocket. Double money easy. But like Roman collecting Russian stuff, he tripled or more on some of those ugly cobby rifles but won't sell. "I can't replace it" THAT keeps the market high.
Damn right you cant

"I can't replace it" True words, wise beyond his years. I did the buy and sell as a younger man, after a cold slap in the face thinking I could sell it at a good price, then get another, I realized I couldn't buy what I sold once I wanted to, gone, discontinued, never to be made again. Fortunately I was younger when that happened and learned. Now am old cantankerous but more knowledgeable cuss. I retired working with guys and gals half my age. They looked up to the age and wisdom and when talking about guns, I seem to have had one, two, or four of what they were interested in. It was always "want to sell it?" My reply was always, "No", because now "I really dont need the money" and then the line I liked most when asked why, "I have one and you dont!"
