Reeder custom mods came out really well…

Entrusted with homing a friend’s 50+ yr. old original Contender it needed some cleaning up. To commemorate the special history I wanted to treat it to something special. Rather than a plain re-blue, I decided to go with a “flat-side” retro conversion. Both the 10” .256 Winchester barrel, and early 70’s frame needed a refresh and I decided a hi-polish would look more true-to-retro period. I do like the extra fine Reeder matte chromex but the shiny turned out nice too.

I have a 1974 frame, with just a couple years later subtleties, transitioning up to a stainless G2. A real blessing of a fun collection. I do like the period octagon tubes. I think I have 10” .357, 8-3/8” .357 Maximum, (2) .45 Colt/.410 ribbed and normal, and .30-30 10”. I probably should pick up a rimfire octagon for fun. This is just the octagon retro kit.

I have many round barrels of later vintage in a bunch of wild-cat ctg. .240 Raptor and Banshee, .256 Falcon, .255 Banshee, 7mm and .30 GNR, .41 GNR. I can’t remember them all. More fun than I can manage alone. I’m teaching the boys from here on.

A handy 3 lb. hunting handgun, like the old days…50-60 yr. ago. Personalized in a rare and unique way.

Really nice, like that look.
